MULTI SKILLED MAINTENANCE ENGINEER

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join an established and successful manufacturing business based in the South Wales area.
This is a permanent days-based position offering a salary of £40,000 and a half day on Fridays, ideal for an engineer looking to move away from shifts while still enjoying a varied, hands-on engineering role.
The Role
Working as part of the engineering function, you will provide both electrical and mechanical maintenance support across a busy manufacturing facility.
Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across production machinery and equipment.
Respond to breakdowns and diagnose electrical and mechanical faults.
Fault find on motors, sensors, switches, contactors, relays and control systems.
Maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including valves, cylinders and pumps.
Complete mechanical repairs involving bearings, motors, gearboxes and drive systems.
Maintain production machinery, presses and associated equipment.
Carry out electrical fault finding and component replacement.
Identify recurring equipment issues and implement improvements to increase reliability.
Assist with machinery installations, modifications and upgrades.
Carry out routine equipment inspections to identify potential failures before downtime occurs.
Support production teams with machinery and equipment issues.
Contribute to continuous improvement and equipment reliability projects.
Maintain accurate engineering and maintenance records.
Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with site procedures.

What You'll Need
Previous experience within a Maintenance Engineer, Multi Skilled Engineer or similar role.
Experience maintaining production or manufacturing machinery.
Good electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills.
Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics.
Knowledge of motors, pumps, bearings, gearboxes and electrical components.
A recognised engineering qualification would be advantageous.
A proactive approach to preventative maintenance and continuous improvement.
The ability to diagnose faults and work independently when required.
Engineers from automotive, packaging, FMCG, precision engineering or general manufacturing environments would be well suited to the position.
