We are looking to employ a Factory Labourer Operative to work in a busy environment in the West of Newcastle upon Tyne. As an operative, you will be assisting with the manufacture and logistics of Roller Shutter doors in the automatic doors industry.
The role includes:
- Lifting and loading of metal and plastic door parts
- Assembling large frames and doors
- Assisting with cutting and measuring of metal parts
- Be able to follow drawings
- Be able to measure and cut parts accurately
- Moving goods with counterbalance FLT
- Maintaining a clean working environment
- General labouring tasks detailed by the Factory Foreman
- Wrap door parts in preparation for dispatch
- Quality control
The person should:
- Have previous experience of similar factory work especially working with metals
- Be capable of working with minimal supervision but willing to follow directions closely
- Be familiar with assembly work, working with large parts
- Be able to measure and cut metals accurately without waste
- Hold current Counterbalance FLT licence
- Be able to lift and load
- Able to undertake training as required
- Operate as part of an effective team
This is a temporary role which could become permanent for the right person.
