We are seeking a dedicated and reliable confined space Operative to join our team at our site in Sittingbourne. This is a key role responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the outside facilities. The successful candidate will work closely with the maintenance team to ensure that the site is clean, well-maintained, and operates safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out routine maintenance and repair tasks across the confined space of interior buildings, including but not limited to:
- Vacuum Tankering: Carry out vacuum tankering tasks to maintain cleanliness and safety on-site.
- Jet Washing and Steam Cleaning: Clean and maintain external surfaces and equipment using jet washing and steam cleaning techniques.
- Gulley Sucking: Perform gulley sucking to maintain drainage systems.
- Drain Clearing: Clear and maintain drains and other wastewater systems.
- Site Housekeeping: Maintain overall cleanliness and tidiness of the site.
- Confined Space Cleaning: Safely clean and maintain confined spaces as per safety regulations.
- Ensure the safety and cleanliness of the site by adhering to company health and safety policies and procedures.
- Respond promptly to any maintenance requests or emergencies.
- Work in collaboration with other departments to ensure the efficient operation of the mill.
Requirements:
- Ability to work in confined spaces, smelly and dirty areas in all weather conditions.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver’s license (preferred but not essential).
- Construction labourer CSCS card (green).
- Any relevant construction certifications would be an advantage.
- Drug and Alcohol tested on day 1 and randomly (due to heavy traffic on site).
