Our client is a specialist hire and engineering services company with over 30 years’ experience in providing dust extractors, fume extractors, noise barriers, ventilation, heating, cooling, monitoring and water treatment equipment and environmental and hazard-control solutions across construction, infrastructure, defence and industrial projects. They are growing and this role offers opportunity for progression.
Role Summary:
We are looking for a motivated Labourer to join the team, supporting on-site operations across a variety of locations in the Southeast. You will start early each day (from the Aylesford Kent area) and travel to sites, assisting tradespeople, performing general labouring tasks and progressing your skills within a growing company. The ideal candidate will have some trades or labouring experience, hold a valid CSCS card, be willing to learn and drive (to travel to different sites).
Key Responsibilities:
- Arrive at site each day between 6:30 am and 8:00 am, based from Dartford and travel to sites across the South East.
- Assist skilled trades engineers and site supervisors with tasks such as material handling, loading/unloading, cleaning up, setting out, etc.
- Perform general labouring duties: lifting, carrying, moving materials, site clearance, cleaning, housekeeping.
- Use basic hand tools and assist with power-tools under supervision (where appropriate).
- Follow instructions from site supervisors, tradespeople and ensure work is done safely and efficiently.
- Adhere to all health, safety and environmental standards and company site rules.
- Keep site tidy and safe; ensure good housekeeping.
- Travel between sites, may involve early starts and various location (within the Southeast).
- Demonstrate willingness to learn new trades, take direction, and grow within the company.
- Drive (car or van) and hold a full, valid driving licence to travel to site each day.
- Nights out will be required (ad hoc basis due to jobs finishing); expenses and meals and loggings paid.
Person Specification / Requirements:
- Valid CSCS card (labourer level at minimum).
- Some previous trades or labouring experience on construction sites (preferred) – e.g., working alongside trades, Engineers, Site Supervisors.
- Willingness to learn and develop skills and trades knowledge.
- A full, clean (or acceptable) driving licence and access to a vehicle (or ability to travel) to reach sites across the Southeast from Aylesford Kent.
- Be available to arrive on site as early as (6:30-8:00 am) Monday to Friday.
- Good physical fitness: able to handle manual tasks, lift, carry, stand/move through site conditions.
- Good communication skills, reliable, punctual, team player.
- Flexible to travel to different sites across the South East region.
- Positive attitude, motivated to grow and take on increased responsibility as the company grows.
