Waste & Recycling Operations Coordinator Our client is looking for an organised, proactive and confident Waste & Recycling Operations Coordinator to join the team at our Crayford, Kent site.

This is a varied role combining administration, operational coordination, customer and council liaison, and support for the industrial team.

You will work closely with the Operations Manager and operational teams to ensure the day-to-day running of the waste and recycling operation is well organised, accurately documented and communicated effectively.

The successful candidate will be comfortable dealing with different stakeholders, including local authorities, customers, suppliers and operational staff, and will be confident attending meetings and following up actions.

Key Responsibilities Operations & Team Support

  • Provide day-to-day administrative and operational support to the Operations Manager.
  • Support the Industrial Team with the coordination of daily activities.
  • Act as a key point of contact between the office, management and operational teams.
  • Help monitor workloads, schedules, collections and operational requirements.
  • Communicate operational changes and requirements clearly to the relevant teams.
  • Assist with resolving day-to-day operational issues and escalate matters to the Operations Manager when required.
  • Monitor outstanding actions and ensure they are followed up.

Council & Stakeholder Liaison Attend council and local authority meetings as required.

Build and maintain professional relationships with council representatives and other external stakeholders.

Prepare information, reports and updates for meetings.

Take notes/actions from meetings and ensure agreed actions are followed through.

Respond to enquiries professionally and ensure information is passed to the appropriate member of the team.

Support the Operations Manager with council contracts and service requirements.

Administration & Reporting Maintain accurate operational records and documentation.

Prepare regular reports, spreadsheets and management information.

Monitor data relating to collections, waste and recycling activities.

Assist with preparing information for client and council reviews.

Maintain filing systems and ensure records are kept up to date.

Support the processing of paperwork, timesheets, delivery/collection information and other operational documentation.

Identify discrepancies or issues within records and report them to management.

Waste & Recycling Compliance Support the team in maintaining accurate waste and recycling records.

Assist with monitoring compliance with company procedures and relevant site requirements.

Ensure required documentation is completed accurately and on time.

Report any operational or compliance concerns to the Operations Manager.

Assist with audits, inspections and information requests where required.

About You We are looking for someone who is organised, confident and commercially aware, with the ability to work across both administration and operations.

You will ideally have experience within waste management, recycling, logistics, transport, industrial services, facilities management or a similar operational environment.

Essential Skills & Experience Previous experience in an administration, coordination or operational support role.

Excellent organisational and time-management skills.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Confident dealing with customers, councils and external stakeholders.

Good attention to detail and accuracy.

Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.

Comfortable working with operational and industrial teams.

Ability to work independently while also being a strong team player.

Professional and confident when attending meetings and representing the business.

Desirable Previous experience within the waste, recycling or environmental services sector.

Experience working with local authorities or council contracts.

Knowledge of waste and recycling processes.

Experience producing operational reports and management information.

Experience working within a busy industrial or logistics environment.
