Operating from a newly consolidated, state-of-the-art facility in Witham, the business boasts the latest manufacturing technology and innovation, supplying architectural glass to some of the UK and Europe’s most high-profile buildings, airports, and transport hubs.
Job Purpose
The key purpose of this role is to work both autonomously and as part of a close-knit engineering team to undertake Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs on high-tech processing machinery.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide front-line maintenance support to the shift operations team.
- Ensure all machinery operates at maximum design and output efficiency.
- Conduct electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation fault-finding (including monitoring and regulating physical parameters such as pressure, temperature, and flow).
- Assist in dismantling, repairing, and re-assembling production equipment.
- Execute regular PPM schedules and contribute to ongoing machinery and site improvement works.
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical & Mechanical) within a fast-paced manufacturing or production environment.
- A strong track record in electrical fault-finding.
- Knowledge and experience of PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) is highly advantageous.
- A self-motivated team player with a flexible approach to working hours to support operational and business demands.
- A full, clean driving licence.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will hold a recognised Electrical Engineering qualification, such as: Level 3 Diploma / NVQ Level 3 / HNC, 18th Edition Maintenance Engineering (City & Guilds 2382).
