All Square Recruitment is currently partnering with a high-precision manufacturing leader in Chelmsford to recruit a skilled CNC Turning Setter/Operator. This role is essential for manufacturing components for the Aerospace and Defence sectors, where “first-off” accuracy is paramount. Our client is looking for a detail-oriented professional who takes pride in meeting exact drawing specifications and customer promise dates.

Shift Pattern

  • Monday to Thursday: 07:00 – 15:30
  • Friday: 07:00 – 14:30 (Early weekend finish)

Key Responsibilities

  • Set, Program & Operate: You will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC turning machines, specifically Nakamura and Citizen sliding head lathes.
  • Technical Execution: Changing and setting tools, adjusting offsets, and fine-tuning programs to ensure optimal machine performance.
  • Quality Assurance: Inspecting first-off and in-process parts using precision measuring tools to guarantee accuracy against technical drawings.
  • Workflow Management: Following route cards strictly, maintaining quality documentation, and ensuring components are prepared for the next production stage.
  • Team Collaboration: Working under the direction of the Turning Team Leader while using your own initiative to maintain department efficiency.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in setting and operating CNC turning machines (Nakamura and Citizen experience is highly preferred).
  • The ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and use precision measuring equipment fluently.

Note: Our client is willing to consider candidates with basic machine-minding experience or those just starting their career who require further training.
