The Senior Satellite Terminal Support Engineer is part of the ALLSPACE team who are responsible for providing technical support to ALLSPACE customers. The Senior Satellite Terminal Support Engineer will work at ALLSPACE Technical Operations Centre (TAC) and will be responsible for resolving customer issues and supporting service activation. Flexibility to work shifts and occasional overtime may be needed as operations scale to meet a global customer base.
Responsibilities of this role are listed below:
- Act as a founding member of the support team, playing a key role in establishing and scaling ALLSPACE’s technical support and operational capability.
- Lead and coordinate complex technical investigations with Satellite Network Operators, teleport providers, and modem vendors, driving root cause analysis across RF, IP, and modem layers.
- Maintain clear ownership of customer communications during all operational events, delivering proactive, accurate, and technically credible updates throughout customer issues.
- Support service activation for live satellite links, including the commissioning, monitoring, and troubleshooting of satellite modems and associated ground segment equipment.
- Operate and improve ITSM processes (Incident, Release, and RMA), ensuring robust control of satellite network changes, modem firmware updates, and hardware replacements in live environments.
- Develop and maintain desk-level procedures and knowledge articles focused on satellite link bring-up, modem configuration, fault isolation, and recovery, accelerating operational maturity and reducing mean time to restore service.
- Deliver real-time support for ALLSPACE demonstrations and customer trials, including pre-event link validation, modem testing, and live monitoring to ensure service performance.
- Perform proactive link health checks and analysis of modem telemetry, RF metrics, and network performance to identify and remediate anomalies before they impact live service.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Satellite Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related STEM discipline, or equivalent senior-level military operational experience in satellite communications, space systems, or network operations.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in satellite network operations, satellite terminal, modem providers, teleport operations, or complex field installation and commissioning environments, with accountability for live service performance.
- Extensive hands-on experience supporting GEO, MEO, and LEO satellite systems, including live link bring-up, modem configuration, service activation, and ongoing operational support.
- Proven track record of leading complex, time-critical troubleshooting across satellite, RF, modem, and IP layers within customer-impacting production environments.
- Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a greenfield or high-growth environment, shaping operational processes, making sound technical decisions under pressure, and balancing speed with service stability.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills, with credibility and confidence to communicate clearly with executive stakeholders, customers, vendors, and engineering teams.
- High level of personal ownership, urgency, and resilience, consistently driving investigations to resolution and setting the operational standard for others to follow.
