We are looking for a Hardware Engineering Lead to join our high-performing team working on cutting edge technology in the satellite communications industry. All.Space has developed a smart terminal capable of linking with all satellites, networks, in all orbits, all at once. Our software-defined service enablement platform integrates intelligent routing, edge computing and on-demand services to deliver network resilience and application performance. Our terminal designs operate as fully electronic beam steering systems with broadband, multi-beam, two-way communications and dynamic tracking of geostationary and non-geostationary satellites or terrestrial nodes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Project Leadership — serve as the technical lead and primary point of contact for hardware subsystem and system-level projects; define technical requirements, specifications, and performance targets with systems engineering; ensure hardware designs meet performance, reliability, and compliance targets; lead formal CDRs and TRRs; plan and manage technical execution, resources, and milestones; identify and mitigate risks; collaborate across firmware, mechanical, manufacturing and systems engineering teams.
  • Hardware Design & Validation — oversee schematic design, PCB layout, component selection, bring-up, debugging, system integration, documentation reviews, and development of subsystem-level test and validation plans; ensure TRRs are completed prior to major testing; support certification, regulatory compliance and environmental qualification (EMI/EMC, thermal, vibration).
  • Team & People Management — manage the hardware engineering team, including staffing, workload planning, performance management, regular one-on-ones, career development, recruiting and training; foster a collaborative, accountable, high-performance engineering culture; ensure effective communication and prioritization.
  • Process & Quality Management — champion structured hardware development processes (Requirements Reviews, PDRs, CDRs, TRRs); maintain documentation control and traceability; drive continuous improvement in design methodology, validation and documentation; promote design reusability and standardization.
  • Cross-Functional & Supplier Collaboration — coordinate with Program Management, interface with suppliers, contract manufacturers and test facilities for design reviews, builds and qualification testing; support operations during NPI, ramp-up and sustaining engineering.

Requirements:

  • Education — Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience — 8+ years of professional experience in hardware design and development. At least 3 years in a technical leadership or hardware management role overseeing teams or projects. Proven track record leading PDR, CDR and TRR processes and delivering hardware subsystems that meet defined requirements.
  • Technical Skills — Deep expertise in analog, digital, RF, power, or mixed-signal circuit design. Proficiency with schematic capture and PCB layout tools (e.g., Altium or similar). Strong understanding of system integration, signal integrity, and DFM/DFT principles. Hands-on experience with hardware validation, debugging, and test automation. Familiarity with compliance testing (EMI/EMC, safety, reliability).
  • Leadership & Management Skills — Demonstrated ability to lead and manage technical teams effectively. Strong communication, delegation, and conflict resolution skills. Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on technical involvement. Experience managing budgets, schedules, and resource plans. Commitment to developing engineering talent and fostering innovation.
  • Preferred Qualifications — Experience in high-reliability or regulated industries (e.g., aerospace, automotive, medical, defense). Experience implementing Agile or hybrid development processes for hardware teams. Exposure to PLM/ERP systems and hardware configuration management.
