Be patient, calm, open-minded and serve as a positive role model to children and families. Have the ability to build strong relationships with pupils; encouraging responsibility, resilience and positive behaviour choices. Have experience of working with parents and carers. Work with the team to create safe spaces where young people feel heard & understood while empowering parents and carers to strengthen relationships.
Demonstrate a genuine passion for inclusion and working with children & families to promote readiness for school, wellness and play. Contribute to afterschool activities programme including family forest sessions. Help children to re-engage with learning through innovative, creative programmes and interventions including using the outdoor space, forest therapies and play.
Have a good understanding of importance of time to play and places to play and the impact this has on a child’s ability to develop relationships, their physical and cognitive development. Have a commitment to working as part of a team and sharing good practice. Have a positive outlook, be approachable and have good communication skills.
