We are looking for a dedicated and proactive Site Caretaker to join our Swansea region, supporting Dan Y Coed School & Home and Ty Trafle School. This is a newly created role as part of our Estates & Maintenance restructure, designed to strengthen local maintenance support and ensure our sites remain safe, compliant, and welcoming environments for the children, young people, and staff who rely on them.
As our Site Caretaker, you will be the on‑site go‑to person for all day‑to‑day maintenance and estate presentation needs.
Responsibilities- Carrying out day‑to‑day maintenance, minor repairs and decoration tasks
- Completing routine statutory checks and supporting site compliance
- Maintaining grounds and external areas to a high standard
- Coordinating and overseeing contractors on site
- Supporting site managers with health & safety requirements
- Responding quickly to reactive maintenance issues to improve first‑time fix rates
- Helping ensure our schools and homes remain safe, compliant, and well‑maintained
- Practical, hands‑on and confident in general maintenance tasks
- Organised, reliable and able to work independently
- Safety‑conscious with a strong eye for detail
- Comfortable working in busy, specialist education and care environments
- A good communicator who can work well with staff, contractors and managers
- Desirable: experience in a caretaker, maintenance or facilities role
- Salary: Up to £30,000 (depending on experience)
- Contract: Permanent, Full‑time (37.5 hours per week)
