We are looking to appoint a Senior Geo‑Environmental Engineer to join our growing Geo‑Environmental team. This role is vital to helping the team provide technical services to our clients, including leading water frameworks, prestigious heritage and defence sites within the UK. It is an excellent opportunity to lead and shape our offering within this flourishing discipline and make a real impact as the department grows.
Responsibilities
- Provide geotechnical and/or contaminated land advice to our multi‑professional teams.
- Work to ensure projects are delivered on time.
- Manage site investigation contracts.
- Design and supervise Phase 1 and Phase 2 ground investigations.
- Experience with Geotechnical Design work or GQRA and DQRA and remedial strategies.
- Assist with any other work undertaken within the Environmental Department.
Key Requirements
- Achieved or working towards Chartership from a professional body (e.g., Geol Soc, CIWEM, IEMA, ICE).
- Experience of managing site investigation projects.
- Experience of scoping, procuring and managing site investigations.
- Experience of writing Phase 1 Geo‑Environmental Desk Studies and interpretative Phase 2 Site Investigation Reports.
- Experience of GQRA and either DQRA or Geotechnical Design (e.g., foundation / pile design, earthworks specifications, slope stability).
- Experience of the role of Principal Contractor and CDM 2015.
- Ability to manage time with multiple tasks.
- Team player.
- Due to the nature of the role and the requirement for site visits, a full driving licence is strongly preferred.
Desirable Experience
- CSCS Card.
- SMSTS.
- First Aid.
- CAT and Genny training.
- Awareness and appreciation of British Standards such as BS 5930, BS EN 1997‑1 and BS 10175.
- Knowledge of AGS data format, Openground, QGIS, AutoCAD.
