BYD Stourbridge is looking for an enthusiastic Apprentice Vehicle Technician to join our Aftersales team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to begin a career in the automotive industry while gaining hands‑on experience with some of the latest electric and hybrid vehicle technology.
You’ll work alongside our experienced technicians in a modern workshop, learning the skills needed to service, maintain, diagnose and repair vehicles while working towards nationally recognised automotive qualifications.
You’ll earn while you learn, combining practical experience at BYD Stourbridge with structured training.
What Will You Be Doing?
No two days in the workshop are exactly the same. Throughout your apprenticeship, you'll develop practical skills across a wide range of vehicle maintenance and repair tasks, including:
- Carrying out vehicle inspections and servicing
- Assisting with vehicle diagnostics and fault finding
- Preparing vehicles for MOT testing
- Learning how to remove, replace and repair vehicle components
- Diagnosing engine, chassis and electrical faults
- Supporting the maintenance and repair of electric and hybrid vehicles
- Learning to use specialist automotive tools and diagnostic equipment
- Working alongside experienced technicians
- Following safe working practices, particularly when working around EV systems
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe workshop environment

What Are We Looking For?
You don't need years of automotive experience – we're looking for someone with the right attitude and enthusiasm to learn.
Ideally, you'll have:
- GCSE Grade 4 or above in Maths and English
- A genuine interest in cars, technology and electric vehicles
- A willingness to learn and develop new skillsGood communication and teamwork skills
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic
- The ability to prioritise tasks and work to deadlines
- Confidence working in a practical, hands‑on environment
- The ability to use your own initiative
- A full UK driving licence is preferred but not essential.
