We are recruiting Female Care Assistants to join our Extra Care teams in Brighton. These are fixed‑location roles, meaning you work within one building supporting the same residents every day.
Female applicants only – this is a lawful Occupational Requirement under the Equality Act 2010 due to providing personal care to female residents.
We are seeking carers for both Day Shifts and Waking Nights, with shift patterns discussed at interview.
About Our Extra Care Services:
- Brookemead Extra Care – Brighton: A modern extra care scheme comprising 45 one‑bedroom apartments, designed for residents with low–medium dementia needs. It offers on‑site 24/7 care, communal lounge, laundry, garden and residents’ activity spaces, and is known for its warm community and varied activities.
- Patching Lodge Extra Care – Brighton: A large extra care community with 76 one‑and two‑bedroom apartments, fully wheelchair accessible with lift access throughout. Facilities include a restaurant, rooftop garden with sea views, lounge, hair salon, cinema, guest rooms and a 24‑hour alarm call system. It is a friendly, lively scheme with regular social activities.
Both sites are located in the Brighton / Kemptown area, close to public transport links, shops and seafront amenities.
The Role:
As a Care Assistant working in Extra Care, you will support residents living independently in their own self‑contained apartments within the building. Your responsibilities may include:
- Providing personal care for female residents
- Supporting with medication
- Assisting with meals and hydration
- Encouraging independence, wellbeing and dignity
- Supporting residents with daily routines in a calm, structured environment
- Working as part of a supportive on‑site team
These roles provide stability, consistency and the opportunity to develop meaningful relationships with residents—without the rushed travel associated with domiciliary care.
