Responsibilities:
• Analysis of downtime, rate and yield leading to development of improvement activities to reduce downtime and increase throughput.
• Interrogate historical data and provide trend analysis of production processes and failures
• Development of Key Action Plans to make permanent corrective actions
• Analysis of of production issues using collected data and knowledge of the process to provide process solutions.
• Work with production teams to understand constraints on performance and where possible develop improvement actions to increase OEE.
• It is an essential part of this team to provide training to production operators to improve understanding and standardisation of the process.
• Understand and deploy continuous improvement and problem solving techniques to optimise machine availability and productivity.
• Apply appropriate use of statistical techniques.
• Being in charge of day-to-day process control, process safety and the installation of new procedures and equipment
• Standardising and improving current and future production processes
• Optimising existing production equipment
• Improving overall quality level
• Upscaling and transferring new products / processes into production
• Being responsible for continuous improvement of process and procedures
• Development of control system solutions
• Technical Support
• Field Support and commissioning of control systems
• Control System design
Qualifications/ Experience:
- Time Served Engineer
- Five – seven years’ experience involved in programming and designing processors and systems
- Proven track record of continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in the automotive industry.
- Previous work experience in an organization that supplied large OEM’s.
- HNC in Engineering (Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Control Engineering, or Mechatronics) (Minimum)
- PLC Programming of Mitsubishi (Q series), Alan Bradley and Siemens
- HMI Programming: Beijer, Alan Bradley
- Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Supervisory Control and Data Aquisition, (SCADA) and Structured Query Language (SQL)
- Knowledge of Process Control Systems, Automation and Instrumentation
- Data Analysis Familiarity with Statistical analysis and process optimisation tools (Six Sigma, Design of Experiment (DOE), Statistical Process Control (SPC)
