We are seeking a highly motivated Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to support the safe and efficient operation of our manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production machinery and site equipment, minimizing downtime, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. This role requires strong electrical and mechanical maintenance skills within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on manufacturing equipment and production lines.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults to minimize production downtime.
- Perform routine inspections and condition monitoring of machinery and plant equipment.
- Support production teams by responding promptly to equipment breakdowns and operational issues.
- Assist with machine installations, upgrades, modifications, and commissioning activities.
- Ensure all maintenance activities are completed in accordance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and spare parts inventory information.
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, efficiency, and overall plant performance.
- Collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams to achieve operational targets.
- Participate in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
- Proven experience in a manufacturing or industrial maintenance environment.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across electrical and mechanical systems.
- Experience working with production machinery, conveyors, motors, pumps, gearboxes, and automated equipment.
- Knowledge of PLC-controlled systems, sensors, drives, and industrial controls.
- Understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and maintenance manuals.
- Familiarity with maintenance management systems (CMMS) is advantageous.
- Recognised engineering qualification (Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, HNC/HND, or equivalent).
- Electrical qualifications and relevant industry certifications are desirable.
- Knowledge of manufacturing health and safety requirements and safe isolation procedures.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
