Job Description
Responsible for completing planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance tasks and improvement work using effective problem-solving and troubleshooting. To provide feedback on completed tasks, root cause and follow-up work.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and prioritise own work to ensure that tasks are completed on time in line with company objectives.
- Attend breakdowns and ensure downtime is kept to a minimum.
- Monitor and record downtime for improvement purposes.
- Perform basic troubleshooting of control systems circuitry.
- Work closely with Shift Supervisor and Manufacturing Manager in achieving production objectives.
- Undertake engineering appraisals of all equipment to identify and quantify causes of inefficiencies / poor performance and identify potential solutions.
- Contribute to site asset condition register to assist in identifying areas for investment.
- Enter accurate, detailed feedback on all ongoing and completed tasks into the CMMS system daily.
- Identify and source / obtain required parts, supplies and repair items as required.
- Maintain stock of routine parts.
- Maintain equipment and repair/ replace as required.
- Liaise with suppliers and ensure their compliance with security requirements and company policies and procedures.
- Raise purchase orders for parts as required.
- General housekeeping of the workshop and stores.
- Obtain general utility readings.
- Testing of the weekly fire alarm.
- Attend callouts as required.
- FLT / Mobile Platform.
- Liaise with contractors and ensure contractor compliance with site security, policies and procedures as required.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
- Formal apprenticeship or equivalent in relevant field (electrical or mechanical) e.g. HND/HNC.
- C&G 17th Edition qualification (for electrical maintenance role).
- High standard of knowledge in appropriate field (electrical/ mechanical) FLT/Mobile Platform license.
Additional Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities Preferred:
- Trained to minimum Six Sigma Green Belt (Six Sigma Black belt preferred).
- Ideally qualified to degree level in an engineering or related discipline.
- Experience of pneumatics and hydraulics.
Competencies:
- Have a proactive approach to SHE and work to ensure an accident free workplace.
- Trained to minimum Six Sigma Green Belt (Six Sigma Black belt preferred).
- Ideally qualified to degree level in an engineering or related discipline.
