We are in an increasingly busy restructuring market and our Turnaround & Restructuring Services practice has ambitious growth plans - this has created opportunities for individuals from a range of backgrounds. We have deep expertise across the entire turnaround lifecycle, with our three main service offerings being:
- Company Advisory and Interim Management: Working closely with management teams to quickly stabilise crisis situations, protect their position and that of other investors, and deliver optimal outcomes.
- Creditor Advisory: We rapidly assess situations, working closely with creditors and the management teams of their borrowers to review performance and develop strategies to protect creditors' positions and deliver optimal outcomes in the most stressed and distressed situations.
- Contingency Planning & Insolvency: We work closely with clients to preserve value by implementing solutions using formal UK and international restructuring tools and most importantly, our practical expertise.
What you'll do: We now have opportunities in London for SVPs who have experience working for clients in one or more of the above areas. SVPs are senior Project Managers in our structure and are seen as the future leaders of AlixPartners. We are looking for a smart, pragmatic and results-focused individual who can operate on a range of UK based and international engagements. We are keen to attract individuals who can contribute to AlixPartners' enviable reputation for driving positive change for the immediate and long-term success of our clients. SVPs lead commercially successful engagements in a 'hands-on', professional and energetic manner. They collaborate with colleagues across the world as well as engage with, and promote, the firm's broader capabilities.
What you'll need: Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following:
- Ideally between 7-10 years of experience in a similar role or environment.
- Relevant and hands-on project management experience in restructuring gained in restructuring advisory, consulting, private equity, banking or industry.
- University degree or relevant school-leaver-programme experience, ideally as well as a post graduate qualification (e.g. ACA/ACCA).
- Demonstrable experience in some of the following situations is essential:
- Financial turnaround programmes
- Cash and working capital management
- Building, reviewing and maintaining short term cash flow models
- Formulating, reviewing and analysing business plans and financial forecasts
- Supporting Chief Restructuring Officer roles
- Balance sheet restructurings
- Options analysis
- Contingency planning
- Schemes of Arrangements / Restructuring Plans
- Trading Administrations
- Insolvency case management and progression
- Independent business reviews
- Distressed sales
- Company Voluntary Arrangements (CVAs)
Skills & Competencies: Consistent delivery of high-impact work, aligned with client needs and expectations, often through ownership of key project components. Highly developed financial analysis and modelling capabilities, with a robust understanding of financial statements. The ability to lead delivery of complex workstreams through strong leadership and interpersonal skills, including setting clear direction, defining roles and responsibilities, and coaching junior team members to enhance performance and engagement. Effective delegation and oversight, ensuring quality and rigour in the work produced by junior staff. Structured and analytical problem-solving approach, enabling identification of core issues and development of practical solutions. Advanced written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, well-structured analysis and presentations for senior stakeholders. Confident and adaptable communicator, skilled at tailoring messaging to different audiences and delivering client communications with clarity and influence. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, used to support analysis and create compelling deliverables. Strong relationship-building skills, fostering trust and collaboration with clients, colleagues, and proven success managing internal and external senior stakeholders. Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with the energy, flexibility, and resilience required to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Active involvement in business development, including identifying opportunities, supporting proposal creation, and contributing to client engagement efforts. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Additional languages will be an asset. Willingness to work outside of normal business hours, and in particular as unique projects/needs arise. Ability to work full time in an office and remote environment.
