About the role: As an experienced Landscape Gardener/Labourer, you will join a small friendly and hard working team based mainly in West Sheffield working on domestic garden and driveway landscaping projects. You will contribute and be responsible for all aspects of the work from digging out and setting out levels, to preparing and installing construction materials. There will be a lot of lifting and physical work, and we work all year round in all weathers. We are looking for someone fit and strong, with an excellent attitude and work ethic, who loves landscaping and the outdoors in general, who will both fit into the small team and be comfortable working on their own, and will be passionate about producing beautiful gardens to a high standard.
Responsibilities:
- Dig out gardens, by hand and with machinery, fill skips, carry heavy materials
- Mix concrete and mortar
- Transport materials and tools around site
- Set out levels, work to a plan
- Construct garden landscapes and driveways
- Keep tools, equipment and site tidy
- Talk to customers, maintain a friendly and respectful environment
Experience:
- Must have a minimum of 2 years experience in all, or at least most of the below:
- Labouring (mixing, preparing materials, tidying)
- Patio paving (natural stone/porcelain/concrete)
- Block paving
- Timber/composite decking
- Fencing
- Brick and stone work/walling
- Setting out levels, installing sub bases and concrete footings
- Outdoor joinery such as timber pergolas/gates/planters
- Turfing/artificial grass
- Drainage, ponds and water features
- Soft landscaping
Requirements:
- Fit and strong, positive and self motivated in all weathers, all year round
- Pride in your work
- Polite, considerate and respectful
- Comfortable working to deadlines, willingness to work extra hours if required
- A creative eye and good attention to detail preferred
- Full driving license and own vehicle preferred
