The predicted salary is between 11 - 16 £ per hour.

Our client, based in Portadown, is seeking a Machine Operator to join their busy Recycling Centre. The successful candidate must have a valid license and experience of operating one of the following machines: Telescopic Forklift, Counterbalance Forklift, Digger or Loading shovel.

Please be aware that you will be working in an environment with rubbish/recycling.

Shift Pattern:

  • Week 1: Monday - Friday 6am to 3pm
  • Week 2: Monday - Friday 2pm - 11pm (40hrs/week)

Competitive Hourly Rate: £14 Overtime rate available (Time & Half)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Operating various machines to include mobile machinery such as forklifts and Loading Shovels.
  • Report immediately any issues with Machines to Supervisor / Operations Manager.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory and company obligations, & Health & Safety standards are maintained at all times.
  • Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Ensure all Machines on site comply with the relevant H&S standards and company standard operating procedures.
  • Ensuring the facility & its equipment is kept clean and tidy, with importance placed on housekeeping/cleaning throughout the shift (will include working at height).
  • Any other duties as delegated by the MRF Supervisor / Operations Manager.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

  • Must have a valid license and experience of operating one of the following machines: Telescopic Forklift, Counterbalance Forklift or Loading shovel.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work well on own initiative.
  • Be self-motivated.
  • Ability to work well with others.
