Our client, based in Portadown is seeking a Machine Operator to join their busy Recycling Centre. The successful candidate must have a valid license and experience of operating one of the following machines: Telescopic Forklift, Counterbalance Forklift, Digger or Loading shovel.
Please be aware that you will be working in an environment with rubbish/recycling.
Shift Pattern:
- Week 1: Monday - Friday 6am to 3pm
- Week 2: Monday - Friday 2pm - 11pm (40hrs/week)
Hourly Rate: £14.57, paid weekly. Overtime rate available (Time & Half).
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Operating various machines to include mobile machinery such as forklifts and Loading Shovels.
- Report immediately any issues with Machines to Supervisor / Operations Manager.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and company obligations, & Health & Safety standards are maintained at all times.
- Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Ensure all Machines on site comply with the relevant H&S standards and company standard operating procedures.
- Ensuring the facility & its equipment is kept clean and tidy, with importance placed on housekeeping/cleaning throughout the shift (will include working at height).
- Any other duties as delegated by the MRF Supervisor / Operations Manager.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
- Must have a valid license and experience of operating one of the following machines: Telescopic Forklift, Counterbalance Forklift or Loading shovel.
- Good organisational skills.
- Good communication skills both written and verbal.
- Ability to work well on own initiative.
- Be self-motivated.
- Ability to work well with others.
