ALink Recruitment are working with a reputable engineering consultancy that are looking for a permanent Project Manager to drive their structural examinations portfolio. You would be undertaking structural inspections and testing to produce inspection reports to a high standard ensuring that all works are undertaken safely and in accordance with Policies and Procedures. The role would be fully office based, 5 days/week in Stratford.

Experience required as Project Manager - Rail:

  • Rail experience essential (infrastructure), PM role or demonstrate proficiency in other (similar) roles.

Project Delivery responsibilities as Project Manager - Rail:

  • All aspects of delivery: plan, resource, access requirements, monitor, report and present to clients.
  • Demonstrate ownership of the planning process and safety critical decision making.
  • Produce up to date programmes.
  • Mitigate risks, anticipate potential challenges and implementation of contingency plans.

Document Control:

  • Risk assessments, site surveys, reports, safe work packs, work package plans, construction phase plans, task briefings, site diaries, report KPIs and milestones.
  • Maintain internal project folders, adhere to and promote Company procedures and policies and Network Rail Life Saving Rules.

Personnel & Management:

  • Internal: colleague collaboration, assist and develop key members of the project delivery team.
  • Ensure staff are correctly trained for the tasks allocated / correct competence is available on site.
  • External: clients and other stakeholders, supply chain.

Commercial:

  • Resourcing both internal and approved supply chain, project budgets, managing change events.
  • Liaise and procure external subcontract services and specialist and plant adhering to approved supplier processes.
  • Assist with project financial forecasting and post project evaluation.

What are we looking for?

  • 3-5 years working as a Project Manager.
  • Degree or HNC/HND Project Management.
  • Medically fit (pass pre-employment medical and ongoing medicals, including Drug and Alcohol tests).
  • IT Literate (Microsoft Office).
  • Understand forms of contract (Fixed price/ Cost reimbursable etc).
