The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.
You will assist the Director with bids and tenders for new clients from a technical and commercial perspective. You will manage the bid team and, with support, use your technical knowledge along with sales skills to provide advice and support on our bespoke products. You will be a key point of contact for clients and provide both pre and after-sales advice. You will liaise regularly with other members of the bid team and colleagues from a range of departments, such as design, site installation and contract management.
Attain an in-depth understanding of the noise and vibration control market, with a view to generating a detailed product and service level requirement along with competitor activity and market share information. Maintain an up to date database of all customers and contacts and tenders on an appropriate CRM software. Searching for new clients who might benefit from company products or services and maximising client potential in designated regions. Developing long-term relationships with clients, through managing and interpreting their requirements. Generate annual sales and profit/margin growth in line with budget expectations, through the generation of new business from new and existing customers. Agree annual sales targets in association with the Board of Directors. Produce a sound annual sales plan to ensure achievement of the agreed budgets. Meeting regular sales and marketing targets and coordinating specific sales and marketing projects. Provide accurate monthly forecasts and reports and maintain the status of the forecast throughout each month.
Making technical presentations and persuading clients that a product or service best satisfies their needs in terms of quality, price and delivery. Calculating client quotations and administering client accounts. Submitting tenders, including prelims evaluation, programming and document submissions when requested. Attend interviews as required. Negotiating tender and contract terms and conditions to meet both client and company needs. Attending sites to survey the surrounding and take measurements to verify client drawing and ensure accurate estimating. Providing training and producing support material for other members of the bid team. Managing the handover to the delivery team and providing all the material and information required to deliver the sale to budget and on time. Providing pre-sales technical assistance and product education. Working on after-sales support services and providing technical back up as required. Making sure that the company is registered in all relevant purchasing portals and monitoring the prequalification information making sure that it is complete and up to date with support from the Business & Finance Director.
Digital marketing activities such as the development of the website and directing SEO (organic and PPC), website management, industry websites, blog content, social media. Creation and delivery of monthly e-newsletter. Assist with preparations for exhibitions / tradeshows. Involvement in production of new marketing materials such as brochures, videos, case studies, PowerPoints, photoshoots. Acting as 'host' for visiting customers, including assisting with travel arrangements, e.g. directions, hotels, restaurants and flights.
Personal Attributes and Qualifications
- Dynamic and specialist experience from an engineering / manufacturing / fabrication / production sector.
- Experience within the electricity transmission and distribution industry (highly desirable).
- Experience of working from client specifications.
- Good computer skills, with experience of Microsoft Word, Excel and AutoCAD.
- Engineering qualification (electrical/mechanical) (highly desirable).
- Eligibility to live and work in the UK.
- Driving Licence.
