ALink Recruitment are working with a small yet fast paced structural engineering consultancy based in central London, near to Kings Cross Station. They have built a strong reputation within London and are seen as specialists in all areas of structural engineering within the domestic market. Their work is varied but includes designing extensions, loft conversions, basements, structural reporting, subsidence investigations and they’ve even worked on some major TV and film productions. They are now looking for a Structural Engineer with a couple of years experience to join their team.

The ideal candidate will have a background working on refurbishment projects in the London market as a structural engineering design consultant. They will have proven experience and be able to demonstrate their abilities to manage projects from concept to completion, including following a brief, controlling budgets, setting expectations and liaising with other parties (client, architect, surveyor, freeholder/managing agents, building inspector etc).

Desirable attributes that the ideal candidate will have include (but are not limited to):

  • Actively working towards Chartered status (IStructE or ICE)
  • Experience of working on both refurbishment and new build projects
  • Experience of designing in timber, reinforced concrete, retaining wall and steel structures
  • Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team
  • Ability to complete structural design both digitally and by hand
  • Ability to complete structural drafting both using CAD and by hand
  • Experience of pricing jobs
  • Structural report writing
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time
