A New Chapter in Food & Beverage
Some Head Chef roles are about taking over an established kitchen. This one is about helping create what comes next. Alinea Talent is partnering exclusively with the General Manager of a leading international hotel in Liverpool on the appointment of their next Head Chef. The hotel is entering a significant period of investment and transformation, with its restaurant and wider food offering being reimagined. The ambition is bigger than simply creating a great hotel restaurant. They want to create a destination. A contemporary, stylish and cosmopolitan restaurant with its own identity. Somewhere with energy. Somewhere the flavours shine. A food offering that is confident, a little edgy and prepared to think outside the box. And they're looking for a real foodie to help bring that vision to life.
The Opportunity
- Help shape the restaurant concept and overall food direction
- Develop a distinctive, contemporary food identity
- Create menus that balance creativity, flavour, quality and commercial performance
- Bring fresh ideas and an outside-the-box approach to the operation
- Help establish the restaurant as a destination in its own right
- Lead, inspire and develop the kitchen brigade
- Build strong standards, consistency and operational discipline
- Take ownership of food cost, labour, margins and kitchen performance
- Work collaboratively across the wider F&B and hotel operation
- Play an integral role in the refurbishment, repositioning and relaunch of the restaurant
About You
First and foremost, you're a real foodie. You're interested in what's happening in restaurants, concepts and food culture. You have opinions, ideas and an instinct for what makes somewhere feel current and relevant. You could already be an established Head Chef, or you may be a strong senior chef ready for greater ownership and the opportunity to put your stamp on something. Your background could come from hotels, restaurants or another quality, high-volume hospitality environment. What matters is your ability to bring together food, creativity, people and commercial performance.
You’ll ideally bring:
- A genuine passion for food and the wider restaurant scene
- Experience within a quality restaurant, hotel or similarly complex hospitality environment
- Creativity and confidence around menu and concept development
- Strong commercial understanding across food cost, GP, labour and profitability
- A track record of building, developing and retaining strong kitchen teams
- High standards balanced with pace, consistency and commercial reality
- The confidence to bring ideas to the table and work closely with senior leadership
- The energy and ambition to create and evolve something rather than simply maintain what already exists
The Package
£55,000–£58,000 + 10% bonus
Free Car Parking
Access to the wider benefits with being part of an established international hotel group.
Why This Role?
It's the timing. The investment is happening now. The restaurant is being reimagined now. And the person joining has the opportunity to influence what it becomes. For the right chef, this is a chance to create something they can genuinely put their stamp on, while having the infrastructure, investment and opportunities of an international hospitality group behind them. If you're a chef who would rather create the next concept than simply inherit the last one, I'd love to hear from you.
