Alimama Spaces owns and manages one of the largest short-term rental portfolios in South Africa, with a rapidly expanding footprint. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a creative, organised, and results-driven Social Media & Marketing Coordinator / Content Creator to help elevate our brand presence, engagement, and storytelling across all digital platforms.
ROLE OVERVIEW
This role is ideal for a creative self-starter who lives and breathes content, social media, and digital storytelling. You will be responsible for developing and executing social media strategies, creating high-quality content, tracking performance, and growing Alimama Spaces’ online presence across multiple platforms. You will work closely with operations, property teams, and leadership, and must be comfortable recording content in real environments with staff, management, and properties.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Social Media Strategy & Execution
- Develop and implement a social media and content strategy aligned with the Alimama Spaces brand
- Manage and grow presence across platforms including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, X (Twitter) and others
- Plan and publish content multiple times per week across all platforms
- Maintain a structured content calendar and posting schedule
- Content Creation
- Create high-quality, engaging content (photo, video, reels, short-form, long-form)
- Capture content at properties, with staff, and with management
- Edit photos and videos for social platforms
- Write compelling captions and copy aligned to brand voice
- Ensure consistency in tone, visuals, and messaging
- Community & Brand Engagement
- Engage with the online community by responding to comments, messages, reviews, and mentions
- Represent the brand professionally and positively at all times
- Monitor brand sentiment and feedback
- Performance Tracking & Reporting
- Track performance, engagement, and campaign results
- Analyse data, trends, and insights to improve content and strategy
- Compile performance reports and present results from campaigns
- Stay up to date with social media trends, platform changes, and short-term rental industry trends
- Collaboration & Marketing Support
- Collaborate with internal teams to support campaigns, launches, and promotions
- Assist with broader marketing initiatives when required
- Adapt content for seasonal demand, high-demand travel periods, and new property launches
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- Essential
- Based in Johannesburg or Pretoria
- Willing to work weekends and public holidays when required
- Flexible schedule and ability to plan around content needs
- Valid driver’s licence required (own reliable vehicle is an advantage)
- Proven experience managing social media accounts with references and a track record
- Strong copywriting skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organised, structured, and able to manage multiple projects
- Comfortable recording content with staff and senior management
- Tech-savvy and confident navigating all major social platforms
- Ability to analyse data, track performance, and optimise campaigns
- Professional, responsible, and reliable
- Excellent time management skills

- Experience in travel, hospitality, property, or short-term rentals
- Photography and videography experience
- Owning a camera is an added advantage
- Experience with Canva or similar design tools
- Video and photo editing skills
- Experience with customer relationship or marketing software
