JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Plumber Reports to: Site Lead / O&M Manager Location: Erbil, Iraq Leave: 12 weeks on, 3 weeks off. Qualifications, Experience and Skills Essential: * Technical qualification and relevant post-qualification experience * NVQ Level 2 / City & Guilds in technical pipework and plumbing or equivalent/higher qualifications in the plumbing discipline, along with relevant experience * Experience in plumbing pipework installation and maintenance, including hot and cold systems as well as grey and black water systems * Proven ability to apply good environmental practices in tasks performed, including investigating accidents and incidents, conducting risk assessments and risk control, and complying with UK health and safety legislation * Experience in building systems and maintenance tasks * Domestic Hot Water Storage Systems (Unvented) Desirable: * Experience working in challenging remote locations or developing countries. * Ideally hold AP certificates in disciplines such as Confined Spaces, Compressed Gases, and/or Pressure Vessels. * Experience in legionella prevention and control measures fCore Responsibilities and Duties * Ensure compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act and implement safe systems of work * Impart a thorough understanding of codes of practice, British Standards, and good working practices to the plumbing team * Arrange for plumbing repairs to be undertaken and completed within contracted timescales * Initiate and order materials through the Stores Request Service * Conduct ad-hoc and weekly toolbox talks * Deliver pre-shift briefs and specific task instructions * Perform scheduled maintenance and inspection of all site plumbing distribution and equipment * Ensure rigorous implementation of statutory routine testing for Legionella in accordance with the planned maintenance schedule * Oversee and carry out repairs of plumbing equipment and systems * Produce written reports and updates on various aspects of plumbing operations * to tasks such as risk assessments and material requests Salary Info: Extremely attractive base salary with an overseas 75% uplift bonus which includes 20 hours overtime and locations allowances, subject to UK tax for whole duration of assignment. We also offer a very generous bonus payment (per month), paid out at the end of each year (or pro-rated if left early/changing work location). Which is a payment acknowledging the Kinetic working environment of Iraq at the moment. – however, this payment could be removed in the future should the client deem it necessary due to changes in the area. If so, anything accrued to that date will be paid out pro-rated. Security Clearance Requirements – Valid SC clearance preferred – must be a UK National but doesn’t have to be British born (in order to obtain an SC, candidate must have 5-year footprint living and working in the UK, unless they have been overseas with the British military). However, there may be a requirement for the applicant to obtain a DV clearance (10-year footprint). We will consider people only have a 5-year footprint, as there may be a work around on site. Working day – 6 days a week from circa 8 through to 5.30 but these timings will be flexible, depending on the construction schedule on the day. As mentioned above, we pay a flat rate, equivalent to 60 hrs per week. Rotation & Leave: – 12 weeks on/3 weeks off. We offer Authorised Persons Tickets. These are voluntary and organised at project demand. However, we offer payment towards a ticket per annum, up to a maximum value to be agreed at offer stage, paid in December or pro-rated if leaving early. Insurances – You will be covered by a life insurance policy for the duration of your engagement with the client. Welfare/Camp facilities – Gym, coffee shop and WiFi. Accommodation – Portacabin/container type shared accommodation – please note all meals, PPE, flights are paid for by the client
