Aligra, recruiting on behalf of our esteemed client, is seeking dedicated and motivated individuals to join their dynamic general haulage team. Key Responsibilities

  • Safe and Efficient Driving: Operate an HGV Class 1 vehicle with precision and care, ensuring compliance with all UK driving laws and regulations. Conduct thorough pre-journey vehicle inspections to guarantee your vehicle is in peak condition. Report any defects immediately.
  • Route Planning: Plan efficient routes for maximum productivity, with a focus on timely deliveries and collections. Utilise GPS technology and other navigation tools to avoid traffic and streamline delivery operations.
  • Delivery and Collection: Perform a maximum of 2 drops per shift, ensuring goods are delivered safely and in excellent condition. Handle goods with care, ensuring they are properly secured during transit to prevent any damage.
  • Loading and Unloading: Enjoy a no handball environment, as all goods are loaded and unloaded using appropriate equipment. Ensure all items are palletised and protected for seamless delivery.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Complete all necessary paperwork accurately and efficiently, ensuring all documents are signed and filed correctly. Maintain precise records of delivery notes and any customer feedback for future reference.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service, communicating effectively with clients to resolve any queries promptly. Build and maintain positive relationships with customers to enhance satisfaction and loyalty.

Monday to Friday or 4 on / off shift pattern on a rota basis starting 06:00.

Requirements

  • Valid Driving Licence with no more than 6 points.
  • Minimum of 2 years HGV Class 1 driving experience.
  • Valid UK CPC and UK Digi Tacho cards.
  • Comfortable working early morning shifts starting at 06:00.
  • Good level of written and spoken English.
  • Strong knowledge of EU driving laws and regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
  • Strong commitment to health and safety standards.
  • Successful completion of a driving assessment before starting.

Pay: £17-£20 per hour
