What if your cybersecurity knowledge could directly shape how AI understands, detects, and responds to the threats facing millions of organisations worldwide? We're looking for Cybersecurity Defence Analysts to evaluate, stress-test, and improve AI-generated security content — from threat analysis and incident response plans to vulnerability assessments and defensive architecture recommendations.
Your real-world security instincts will help ensure AI systems give accurate, actionable, and safe cybersecurity guidance — not dangerous hallucinations. This is a fully remote, flexible contract role. No AI or machine learning background needed — just hands-on cybersecurity experience and a sharp, critical eye.
Organisation: Alignerr
Type: Hourly Contract
Location: Remote
Commitment: 10–40 hours/week
What You'll Do
- Review AI-generated cybersecurity content — including threat analyses, remediation steps, security configurations, and defensive strategies — for accuracy and real-world applicability
- Identify dangerous errors, outdated practices, misconfigurations, and misleading security advice in AI outputs
- Evaluate whether AI-generated incident response plans, detection rules, and hardening guides would actually work in production environments
- Craft challenging, realistic cybersecurity scenarios and prompts to stress-test AI capabilities and uncover blind spots
- Provide structured, detailed feedback on technical accuracy, completeness, and safety of AI-generated security guidance
- Assess code snippets, scripts, and tool configurations related to defensive security for correctness and best practices
- Work independently and asynchronously — fully on your own schedule
Who You Are
- Hands-on experience in one or more areas of cybersecurity defence — network security, endpoint protection, SIEM/SOC operations, incident response, vulnerability management, cloud security, or identity and access management
- Solid understanding of common attack frameworks (MITRE ATT&CK, kill chain methodology) and how defenders counter them
- Ability to critically evaluate technical security recommendations and spot errors that could lead to real harm
- Strong written communication skills — you can explain complex security concepts clearly and concisely
- Detail-oriented with a methodical, thorough approach to review work
- Self-motivated and reliable when working independently without supervision
- No prior AI, machine learning, or data science experience required
Nice to Have
- Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, CompTIA Security+, CySA+, GIAC, or equivalent
- Experience working in a SOC, CSIRT, or cybersecurity consulting role
- Familiarity with security tools — firewalls, IDS/IPS, EDR, SIEM platforms, vulnerability scanners
- Background in penetration testing, red teaming, or threat hunting
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls, Cyber Essentials, NCSC guidance)
- Experience writing security documentation, runbooks, or technical advisories
- Familiarity with cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP) or container security
- Prior experience evaluating or interacting with AI/LLM tools
