About the Role

We are seeking a qualified and motivated Orthodontic Therapist to join our friendly and professional dental team. The successful candidate will work under the prescription of a Specialist Orthodontist to provide high-quality orthodontic care and support to patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out orthodontic treatments under the prescription of an orthodontist or dentist.
  • Place and adjust orthodontic archwires, brackets, and other appliances.
  • Take dental impressions, intraoral scans, and clinical photographs.
  • Fit orthodontic bands and attachments as prescribed.
  • Remove orthodontic appliances and prepare teeth surfaces after treatment.
  • Provide oral hygiene advice and instructions on maintaining orthodontic appliances.
  • Monitor treatment progress and report concerns to the supervising orthodontist.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and patient documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with infection control, health and safety, and clinical governance standards.

Essential Requirements

  • Qualification in Orthodontic Therapy recognised by the General Dental Council.
  • Current GDC registration as an Orthodontic Therapist (or eligibility to register).
  • Excellent communication and patient care skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a dental team.

Desirable Skills

  • Previous experience working in an orthodontic practice.
  • Knowledge of digital orthodontic systems and intraoral scanners.
  • Strong organisational and record-keeping skills.
