Role Overview
In this role, you will be a key contributor to the Strada Global Tax team, reporting to the US-based Vice President Head of Tax. This role will provide leadership on international tax matters across multiple jurisdictions, supporting both compliance and strategic initiatives. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing tax planning, compliance and reporting processes, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and global regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as primary point of contact for Strada’s local country business finance teams with respect to all matters of direct & indirect income taxation.
- Work with Accounting teams and third-party tax advisors to proactively review potential exposures related to withholding tax & VAT matters in overseas jurisdictions.
- Provide proactive tax advice to business units on operational changes, expansion plans, and transactions.
- Work closely with Finance teams to ensure transactions are executed in accordance with the company’s global transfer pricing policies.
- Lead the tax examination process in association with external advisors.
- Co-ordinate tax workstreams of various company-wide projects, such as addressing legislative changes, integrating new acquisitions & implementing IT systems upgrades.
- Proactively monitor and assess the impact of changes in international tax legislation (e.g., OECD/G20 BEPS, Pillar 2 and ATAD) on the company’s operations.
- Manage statutory & regulatory filings in non-US countries prepared by external advisors.
- Support the preparation and review of tax provisions for UK and international entities in accordance with US GAAP and local reporting standards (including ASC 740).
- Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Involvement in tax due diligence, including issue identification & documentation surrounding deal acquisitions.
- Support various tax research & planning initiatives.
Areas of expertise
- Knowledge of direct & indirect tax laws and regulations with an emphasis in Europe.
- Significant and demonstrable experience in a relevant role capacity, ideally including in the Tax department of a US parented multinational company.
- Working knowledge of basic VAT concepts.
- Knowledge of global transfer pricing matters.
- Knowledge of US GAAP / IFRS & local GAAP required.
- Familiarity with Workday ERP is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to exercise influence cross-functionally, work collaboratively, optimize priorities and build & maintain effective relationships with all levels of executives, internal team members, customers & other partners.
- Occasional travel to US or various locations.
