Alice Rose Recruitment is currently recruiting for an Electrical or Mechanical Shift Engineer to join a highly reputable building services provider on a critical site contract based in Canary Wharf.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced maintenance engineer to work on a well-recognised, technically challenging contract with a market-leading facilities management provider. The role offers strong training, clear career progression, and long-term development within a supportive and expanding organisation.
Working Hours
- Continental shift pattern (days and nights)
- 07:00 – 19:00 / 19:00 – 07:00
Shift Engineer Benefits
- Basic salary of £50,000 per annum

Shift Engineer Key Responsibilities
- Deliver Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance within a critical environment
- Electrical fault-finding, diagnostics, and repairs on building services systems
- Working on single-phase and three-phase power systems
- Operation and maintenance of UPS systems, generators, and BMS
- Servicing and maintenance of CRAC units, AHUs, FCUs, and VAV/VRF systems
- Maintenance of motors, pumps, and associated plant equipment
Shift Engineer Requirements
- Electrically qualified (City & Guilds Level 3, NVQ, or equivalent)
- Previous experience working within a critical site environment (desirable)
- Apprentice-trained (preferred)
- Proven background in building services or facilities maintenance
- Strong client-facing skills with excellent communication ability
