Mechanical Shift Engineer – Liverpool Street, London – £55,800 Alice Rose Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Mechanical Shift Engineer to join the maintenance team at a prestigious commercial office building in the heart of Liverpool Street. This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading building services provider, working within a high-rise commercial environment. The successful candidate will be mechanically qualified with a proven track record in commercial building maintenance and will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across mechanical, electrical, and building fabric systems. Working Hours Continental Shift Pattern Continental Shift - 4 nights, 4off, 3 days, 3 nights, 6off, 4 days - 07:00am - 19:00pm / 19:00am - 07:00am Package & Benefits * Salary: £55,800 * Overtime Available * Company Pension Scheme * 20 Days Holiday * Uniform & Tools Provided * Cycle to Work Scheme * Ongoing Training & Development * Internal Progression Opportunities Key Responsibilities * Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across mechanical and building services systems * Monitor and maintain mechanical plant * Maintenance and fault finding on pumps, motors, seals, and bearings * Maintenance of AHUs and FCUs, including filter changes and cleaning * Carry out water treatment checks and temperature monitoring * Perform basic plumbing repairs including replacing taps, washers, and clearing blockages * Monitor and respond to BMS alarms * Undertake basic electrical duties including lamp replacements * Carry out general building fabric maintenance * Escort and supervise specialist subcontractors * Maintain accurate maintenance records and logbooks * Proactively identify faults and arrange remedial works * Liaise with clients, occupiers, and site management teams * Ensure compliance with health & safety legislation and site procedures Requirements * Mechanical City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2/3 Qualification * Proven experience within commercial building maintenance * Experience working within a large commercial office environment * Multi-skilled building services maintenance experience * Strong knowledge of mechanical plant and HVAC systems This is a fantastic opportunity for a Mechanical Shift Engineer looking to join a highly regarded employer within a flagship London commercial building, offering excellent earning potential, technical exposure, and long-term career progression
