Mechanical Shift Engineer | Moorgate | £50,000 | Days Only | 4 on 4 off Looking to get off nights without sacrificing interesting plant? We’re recruiting for a Mechanical Shift Engineer to join the engineering team at a large commercial office building in Moorgate. This is a days-only 4 on, 4 off role (07:00-19:00) offering a great work-life balance, plenty of technical exposure and the opportunity to work on a modern commercial building alongside an experienced team of engineers. If you’re currently working shifts with nights or you’re looking for a well-run site where you can continue developing your building services experience, this is well worth a look. What’s on offer * £50,000 basic salary * 4 on, 4 off days only (07:00-19:00) * Static commercial site in Moorgate * Overtime available * Company pension * 20 days holiday * Uniform and tools provided * Ongoing technical training * Genuine opportunities for internal progression You’ll be working on This is a varied commercial building where you’ll gain exposure to a wide range of mechanical and building services plant, including: * AHUs * FCUs * Pumps, motors, seals & bearings * HVAC systems * Water treatment * BMS monitoring * Plumbing systems * Building fabric * Mechanical plant Your day-to-day responsibilities * Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPMs) * Responding to reactive maintenance across the building * Fault finding on mechanical plant * Servicing AHUs and FCUs * Water treatment checks and temperature monitoring * Basic plumbing repairs * Monitoring BMS alarms * Supporting basic electrical maintenance where required * Escorting specialist subcontractors * Updating logbooks and maintenance records * Working closely with the site team to maintain high service standards We’re looking for someone with Mechanical City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2 or 3 Experience within commercial building maintenance Good knowledge of HVAC and mechanical plant A proactive approach to fault finding and planned maintenance Strong communication skills and a client-focused attitude If you’re a Mechanical Engineer, HVAC Engineer or Multi-Skilled Engineer looking for a days-only shift role within a high-quality commercial building, we’d like to hear from you.
