Alice Rose Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Lead Engineer to join a highly reputable building services provider on a well-established commercial contract in Canary Wharf.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced building services engineer ready to step into a lead role, working closely with the Contract Manager and providing technical leadership on site. The role offers stability, structured working hours, and clear progression within a supportive facilities management environment.

  • Monday to Friday
  • 07:00 – 16:00 or 08:00 – 17:00

Lead Engineer Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across the site
  • Act as the technical lead and first point of escalation for the on-site engineering team
  • Support and guide the Engineer on day-to-day maintenance activities
  • Carry out fault-finding, diagnostics, and repairs on building services systems
  • Work on single and three-phase electrical systems
  • Operate and maintain building services plant including UPS, generators, BMS, AHUs, FCUs, and associated equipment
  • Ensure all works are completed in line with contractual SLAs and health & safety requirements
  • Liaise with the Contract Manager, site stakeholders, and specialist subcontractors

Lead Engineer Requirements

  • Electrically or mechanically qualified (City & Guilds Level 3, NVQ, or equivalent)
  • Proven experience within commercial building services or facilities maintenance
  • Previous experience acting as a Lead Engineer, Senior Engineer, or stepping-up role
  • Apprentice-trained (preferred)
  • Strong communication skills with a professional, client-facing approach
  • Good understanding of compliance, PPM scheduling, and reactive maintenance
