Alice Rose Recruitment is currently recruiting for an Engineering Manager to join a leading FM service provider, overseeing the delivery of hard services across a prestigious commercial building in Victoria, Central London. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Engineering Manager, Technical Manager, or Contract Manager with a strong building services background to take ownership of a flagship site.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all mechanical and electrical services, ensuring statutory compliance, overseeing specialist contractors, managing budgets, and supporting capital projects across the building. The role would suit someone with strong technical knowledge, excellent stakeholder management skills, and previous experience managing engineering services within a high-profile commercial environment.

Working Hours
Monday to Friday: 08:00 - 17:00

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all mechanical and electrical building services across the site
  • Oversee maintenance, repairs, infrastructure, and lifecycle planning
  • Manage specialist engineering service contracts and subcontractors
  • Ensure all plant, critical systems, backup systems, and monitoring equipment remain fully operational
  • Lead testing and maintenance programmes in accordance with statutory requirements
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for complex building services issues
  • Manage refurbishment, improvement, and capital works projects
  • Liaise with occupiers and stakeholders regarding infrastructure changes and engineering works
  • Manage engineering budgets and monitor expenditure
  • Ensure all outsourced contracts are delivered in line with contractual obligations
  • Maintain compliance with all health & safety and statutory regulations
  • Prepare tender documentation and manage procurement exercises
  • Benchmark supplier performance and ensure value for money across all service contracts
  • Chair contractor and engineering review meetings
  • Lead the response and management of M&E-related incidents and outages
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the building

Requirements

  • Fully qualified in an Electrical or Mechanical discipline (HNC/HND or equivalent)
  • Strong knowledge of commercial building services systems
  • Previous experience managing engineering services within a commercial building
  • Proven experience managing contractors, projects, and maintenance delivery
  • Strong understanding of HVAC, electrical infrastructure, BMS, and critical plant
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Proficient in Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong leadership and people management abilities
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels
