ALH Recruitment are looking to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer position with immediate effect for our client who continue to grow and are based in the Peterborough area. This is an exciting new role to join the Engineering Design Team as a Design Engineer to support the demands of our clients growing business in liquid and powder process solution equipment.

As an engineering solutions supplier to the food, beverage, brewery, bakery, dairy and utility industries throughout the UK, they are providing an opportunity to bring forward your own ideas. Reporting to the Processing Engineering Manager, you will work on small to major projects within a team of design engineers responsible for delivering cradle-to-grave design deliverables to the liquid powder process food industry in the UK. You will be responsible for ensuring your designs conform to all relevant UK standards and align to the high standards of the department.

Role - responsibilities:

  • Maintain and amend existing designs.
  • Incorporate the principles of hygienic design within all aspects of your work.
  • Produce accurate technical drawings and designs for the engineering department, customers, and suppliers.
  • Produce and manage BOMs, ensuring all changes are recorded.
  • Perform mechanical design and development using SOLIDWORKS and AutoCAD with a 'Hands on' approach.
