Overview
As VP of Product Design, you will shape the end-to-end application layer for developers, merchandisers, and business teams to build AI-driven search and discovery experiences. You’ll lead a technical design org, champion AI-native workflows, and steward Satellite, the design system that enforces consistency and velocity. You’ll partner with Product, Eng, and GTM to translate strategy into measurable adoption and impact. This is a chance to influence how billions of end users interact with intelligent systems at scale.

Responsibilities
- Define product design vision and strategy for the application experience, from onboarding to enterprise-grade orchestration, linked to measurable outcomes.
- Establish AI design standards for agentic UX—trust, explainability, human-in-the-loop controls, and handling of probabilistic states.
- Oversee Satellite Design System as a product—roadmap, governance, adoption metrics, and AI-native evolution for conversational interfaces.
- Build and scale a technical product design organization (designers, engineers, researchers, content designers) including hiring and leadership development.
- Uphold high usability and performance standards across core search experiences before market release.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, and GTM at the executive level to translate design impact into business terms.
Key requirements
- 15+ years in product design
- 6+ years leading design organizations (managers of managers) in B2B SaaS or developer platforms
- Proven AI-native design leadership with shipped AI/ML-driven experiences
- Technical depth: front-end fundamentals (React, component architecture, design tokens), APIs, understanding of LLM-based systems (latency, non-determinism, hallucination)
- Experience owning a complex technical application for developer and business audiences
- Hands-on experience scaling a design system with cross-organizational adoption
- AI-augmented personal practice using AI tools in daily workflows
