We are a VC backend business working on behavioral AI solutions for the retail industry, currently operating in stealth mode. We operate in a zero-legacy environment with a mandate to build a cutting-edge platform for our customers.

We’re looking for a Lead Cloud Engineer to join our engineering team to help design and build our cloud platform from the ground up. This role is ideal for someone looking for a greenfield opportunity working on cutting-edge solutions.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Strong experience designing, building, and supporting infrastructure in cloud environments.
  • Deep understanding of cloud networking concepts and patterns, including routing, private connectivity, and security controls best practices.
  • Solid experience with container orchestration systems and how to manage workloads at scale.
  • Proficient with Infrastructure as Code tools and practices.
  • Comfortable writing automation, configuration, and tooling to simplify operations and reduce manual effort.
  • Knowledgeable about observability tools and best practices.
  • Ability to collaborate across teams with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to Have Qualifications:

  • Experience with multi-cloud and/or hybrid deployments.
  • Knowledge of optimising and managing large-scale data processing frameworks (e.g. Spark, Trino, or similar).
  • Experience optimizing cloud costs/spend.
  • Experience setting up SRE, self-service, and incident-management processes.
