Role: Weβre looking for an experienced Frontend Engineer to work closely with product, design, mobile, and machine learning team members to design & build experiences that re-define retail shopping. You'll help build engaging & intuitive web experiences using highly responsive UI components and real-time data flows.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement reactive, real-time web interfaces that help manage & redefine what is possible with in-store content personalisation
- Understand & advocate for user needs/wants
- Translate user and business needs into functional frontend code
- Contribute to API and broader system design & documentation
Essential Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of UX principles and web design fundamentals
- Expert in Javascript, Typescript, HTML, and CSS
- Extensive experience with modern web frameworks and patterns (eg. React, Next.js, Tailwind)
- Experience with real-time and bi-directional communication protocols and patterns (eg. WebSockets, SSE)
- Built and deployed services on any major cloud providers' services (Azure, GCP, AWS)
- AI-Native development: fast iteration & prototyping using AI tools such as Lovable, Bolt, or Cursor as a collaborator.
Nice to Have:
- Some experience in backend development (Python/Java/Go)
- Experience with container orchestration and service containerisation (Kubernetes, Docker)
- Worked in IoT or Edge-oriented architectures
- Experience or knowledge in retail POS, inventory, or loyalty systems
