Post Trade Operations Engineer- HFT Proprietary Trading Firm
One of the world's leading proprietary trading firms, distinguished by its dominance in crypto assets, is scaling its production engineering team. As an Operations Engineer, you'll collaborate with industry-leading traders and technologists to architect next-generation trading platforms. You'll work in an environment where ML and AI drive innovation, building systems that operate at the intersection of traditional finance and digital assets.
About the role:
You will be responsible for building and designing critical trading systems, exchange connectivity solutions; transactional systems, and establishing state-of -the art software systems that drive their market making (real- time) capabilities.
The role involves developing sophisticated monitoring systems and tools in a multi-language environment, utilizing Java, Python, and TypeScript supporting the crypto team's core infrastructure, focusing on system integration and optimization. This position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on our trading infrastructure while working with state-of-the-art technology.
Responsibilities:
- Deploy, monitor, and optimize systems that support the entire lifecycle of mission-critical trading systems applications while collaborating with traders, operations, and software engineers within our group as well as elsewhere within the organization.
- Design and develop full-stack software systems including trading systems, exchange connectivity solutions, and monitoring systems
- Drive a multi language environment with a heavy focus on, Java, Python scripting, and TypeScript while working on legacy code as well as greenfield development
- Testing at the unit, functional, and integration level
- Providing on-call support as needed
Requirements:
- Experience working in the trading or financial industry developing, and supporting mission critical, high-performance applications.
- Very strong Java Core experience, and Python scripting development experience
- Experience supporting high-performance applications, transactional systems, process monitoring, and troubleshooting
- Experience with inter-process messaging, micro-service architectures, and API design
- Broad technical knowledge including some understanding of Linux, networking (TCP and UDP), software lifecycle processes
