  • YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Health, Safety and Environmental

Demonstrate safe working practices, complying with company policy and legal requirements.

  • Ensure all activities align to the company’s ‘Five Basic Behaviours’ and ‘Our Life Saving Rules’.
  • Proactive and timely reporting of all health, safety, and environmental issues to ensure prompt action and mitigation of risk to colleagues, visitors, suppliers and customers.

Key Tasks

Manage the bid process for all bids, across OSS and Mod Hire, whether at Expression of Interest, Pre-Qualification or Tender stage, in line with the Company Delegation of Authority (Do A) and Legal processes, and assisting with the Do A process where required.

Work closely with all teams to ensure relevant input support to those bids, including Business Development, Marketing, Estimating, Pre-Construction, Design, Procurement, Manufacturing, Programme, Operations & Commercial.

  • Work with the Head of Business Development and Bid Co-ordinator to review the bid documents and extract deliverables for each submission undertaken.
  • Facilitate launch meetings to establish a clear plan of action including timings and communicate these to the allocated team by way of a deliverables schedule.
  • Allocate each deliverable an owner across the wider business as appropriate.
  • Work with these internal teams to manage, develop and write quality submission documents, ensuring submissions are produced in accordance with current procedures and necessary timescales.
  • Be responsible for query management both during the enquiry period and ensure that all post submission requirements are dealt with efficiently, effectively and in a timely manner.
  • Assist with preparation and delivery of Client presentations when requested, and where required attend client meetings and industry events.
  • Seek feedback from the BD team post submission to ensure lessons learned are fed back into subsequent submissions.
  • Within the confines of client-stipulated return formats, ensure submissions have layouts that are clear and concise to navigate, following brand guidelines and based on templates that are straightforward and reliable to populate.
  • Maintain and improve the bid library and bid management processes, challenging existing practices.
  • Collaborating with colleagues in Hire and Advante where required to support Algeco UK bids and framework activity.
  • Produce reports on current, expected, planned and historic bid activity, including the monitoring of bid wins rates, to support the management and allocation of resource.
  • Monitor tender portals and manage submissions via online platforms
  • Finalise and quality check all documentation for each tender stage, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with submission requirements.
  • Ensure clarity on submission requirements and compliance with commercial, technical, and quality standards
  • Develop win strategies in collaboration with departmental leads and SLT, including taking lessons learnt from previous bids
  • Manage and actively drive the tender programme towards submission ensuring draft and final answers are accurate and cohesive
  • Plan and lead mid tender reviews and final settlement meetings
  • Evaluate risk associated with all elements of the bid and develop mitigating solutions and/or pricing to cover that risk
  • Research and analyse market trends, competitor activity, and client needs to strengthen bid proposals, including the development of options and proposal solutions to integrate AI into bid process

Skills / Knowledge

  • Knowledge of the full bid processes
  • Ability to write technical answers to questions in line with wordcount
  • Manage workload across Bid team and other contributing disciplines
  • Ability to manage framework bids and ongoing framework management
  • Knowledge of offsite construction techniques
  • Knowledge of different construction market sectors and scale of projects
  • Experienced Bid Manager used to managing a full bid process, including tender reviews and settlements
  • IT literate with a high level of knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Power Point and Adobe Packages (essential)
  • Experience in use of a publishing package
  • Previous experience in the construction industry
