Due to strategic expansion, our client has an immediate vacancy in their Cardiff office for an experienced Structural / Principal Structural Engineer with an ambition to oversee the technical delivery of a portfolio of projects allocated to them. In doing so, the candidate will strive to ensure the quality and accuracy of the engineering is to the highest standard. Projects are spread throughout the UK, but the majority of work is in South Wales and the West of England.
The candidate will be able to run projects, manage clients, do a limited amount of marketing, and collaborate well with colleagues. They will be highly competent in the design of timber, steel, reinforced concrete, and masonry structures within the renewable energy, rail, commercial, and social housing sectors.
It will be desirable to have a working knowledge of:
- AutoCAD
- Revit
- Tekla
- Microsoft Office software
The successful candidate is likely to have at least five to eight years post-graduate experience and will already be used to taking design responsibility for projects. You are likely to be Chartered, but applications from candidates who have a similar level of experience and expertise are welcomed. The successful candidate will report directly to the Structural Engineering Director.
Our client will continue to support the career development of the candidate including the provision of appropriate CPD, and a career path leading to Associate and potentially Director is available, although not an essential aspiration.

- 5+ years of UK post-graduate work experience
- Strong organizational, creative, and presentation skills
- Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit
