Ready to take the lead in a growing Drainage Infrastructure team? This Cardiff‑based consultancy is looking for a driven Senior or Principal Civil Engineer to help deliver complex infrastructure projects with a strong focus on SuDS and surface water drainage design.
The Role
You’ll work within a dynamic team, supporting the Associate Director and leading the delivery of civil engineering design across a range of challenging infrastructure projects. Expect technical depth, leadership responsibility, and the chance to shape high‑quality drainage solutions.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading surface and foul water drainage design to industry standards
- Managing and mentoring engineers at varying experience levels
- Overseeing multiple projects and prioritising deliverables
- Preparing designs, reports, and technical documentation
- Liaising with statutory bodies (NRW, EA, Water Authorities)
- Supporting approvals including S104, S106 and SAB
- Ensuring compliance with planning policy and flood risk requirements
What You’ll Need
- 7+ years’ experience in drainage design (SuDS, foul & surface water)
- Civil Engineering degree (Master’s preferred)
- Chartered or working towards Chartership (ICE/CIWEM)
- Strong 3D design and modelling skills (MicroDrainage, InfoDrainage, AutoCAD, Civils 3D, ICM)
- Excellent communication skills and a methodical, proactive approach
- Ability to manage teams and deliver multiple projects simultaneously
