We are working with a specialist engineering consultancy delivering high‑end civil and structural solutions for £1m+ bespoke domestic projects and residential developments across the UK and Australia.
With a strong pipeline of complex, design‑led work, the business is now bringing its civil engineering capability fully in‑house, creating a rare opportunity for an experienced drainage engineer to take ownership of this function and shape its future.

We are looking for a Senior Civil Drainage Engineer to lead and deliver all drainage and SuDS design work within the UK arm of the business. This position is ideal for someone who has considered going self‑employed or contracting but prefers the security of a permanent role with a guaranteed income, strong pipeline, and long‑term progression.
You will be the go‑to drainage specialist in the company, responsible for technical delivery, operational oversight, and eventually growing a team beneath you as the business continues to expand.
- Lead the design and delivery of residential drainage schemes, including SuDS, for bespoke domestic and residential projects.
- Produce detailed drainage strategies, calculations, and technical reports in line with UK regulations.
- Provide expert guidance on drainage matters to internal teams, clients, architects, and external consultants.
- Oversee and sign off all drainage work within the UK business.
- Work closely with the director to support project delivery, operational planning, and future team development.
Strong experience in UK residential drainage design, including SuDS, Foul Water Drainage, Surface and Subsurface Drainage. Excellent understanding of UK drainage regulations, planning requirements, site analysis, and best practice (including flow rates and gradients, material selection etc.). Confident producing and signing off drainage designs, calculations, and reports. Someone who is technically strong, operationally minded, and comfortable being the lead drainage specialist in the business. Experience with bespoke residential projects.
