A dynamic, design-led architectural practice in Birmingham is seeking an experienced
Principal Designer
to lead
CDM design risk management
across commercial, industrial, healthcare, and public-sector projects. This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative, growing team and play a key role in ensuring design safety, compliance, and quality throughout all project stages.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead design risk management and CDM compliance across projects
• Prepare and manage
  Pre-Construction Information
  and
  Health & Safety Files
• Review design information, identify hazards, and mitigate risks
• Collaborate with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams
• Support best practice and internal knowledge sharing

What We\’re Looking For

• Proven Principal Designer experience under
  CDM 2015
• Knowledge of UK Building Regulations, construction methods, and risk management
• Experience across
  commercial, industrial, healthcare, or education projects
• Excellent communication, coordination, and organisation skills
• Revit proficiency advantageous (not essential)
• Strong attention to detail and solutions-focused mindset
