Alfred H Knight has an exciting opportunity for an experienced and commercially driven Business Development Manager to join our team in Truro, Cornwall. In this role, you will support the growth of our Mineral Processing services across the UK and international markets. You will focus on identifying, developing and securing new business opportunities while maintaining and expanding relationships with existing clients, ensuring repeat business and long‑term partnerships.

By developing a strong understanding of company capabilities, you will effectively position our services in the market and promote our full range of offerings, with a focus on cross‑selling and linking opportunities across the wider group. You will represent the business at industry events, conferences, and exhibitions to build brand presence and generate leads, while monitoring market trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities within the sector. Additionally, you will work closely with technical and operational teams to ensure alignment between client requirements and service delivery, while supporting strategic planning and contributing to business growth initiatives.

Do You Have What It Takes?

To be successful at Alfred H Knight you will need to display the following:

  • Proven experience in a Business Development or Sales role within the mining industry
  • Established network and relationships within the mining sector
  • Knowledge of related services e.g., metallurgy, geochemistry, or laboratory testing services
  • CRM experience and pipeline management
  • Strong technical understanding of mineral processing methods and industry practices
  • Demonstrated ability to generate leads, convert opportunities and meet sales targets
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Self‑motivated, proactive and results‑driven approach
