Alfred H Knight has an exciting, permanent opportunity for a Tax Manager to join our dedicated and passionate Finance Team here at our Head Office in Prescot, Liverpool. The role offers hybrid working, with the opportunity to work from home 2 days per week.
The role is responsible for leading the Group's tax strategy, ensuring global tax compliance, optimising the worldwide tax position, and acting as the principal internal advisor on all direct and indirect tax matters, reinforcing the company's ethical and statutory obligations across all jurisdictions.

Do you have what it takes? To be successful at Alfred H Knight you will need to display the following:
- Required knowledge and work experience: Strong knowledge of UK Corporation Tax principles and practices, with a deep understanding of UK VAT, international VAT/GST, and Sales Tax. Expertise in Transfer Pricing Principles, including OECD guidelines, the arm's length principle, and the preparation and defense of Master and Local TP Files. Strong experience in the tax provision process, effective tax rate (ETR) calculation, deferred tax accounting, and tax disclosures under IFRS or UK GAAP. Comprehensive understanding of current and emerging global tax reforms (e.g., BEPS Pillars One and Two) and their impact on an international company. Functional knowledge of other major international tax jurisdictions where the Group operates. Ability to work under pressure, ensuring compliance with deadlines, and establishing cooperative working relationships. Strong technical and analytical skills, with excellent IT skills and a very good understanding of the UK taxation system. Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan, manage, and prioritise complex global workload. Proven change management track record demonstrating the ability to interact with, influence, and support people at varying levels within the Group. Motivated with a thirst for learning, a desire to succeed, and experience of working in a high‑pressure dynamic environment.
- Required work experience: Experience in leading, mentoring, and developing junior tax staff. Experience in acting as the main point of contact and representative in dealings with HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) and other international tax authorities. Experience in ensuring statutory compliance through strong controls, processes, and governance.
- Required qualifications: Preferably qualified ACA / ACCA / CTA. Qualified by experience will be considered.
