Alfred H Knight has an exciting opportunity for an IT Business Partner to join our team here in Liverpool, UK. The IT Business Partner serves as the strategic bridge between the business and IT, ensuring that technology initiatives deliver maximum business value and align with organisational objectives. The role is responsible for building trusted relationships with business leaders, shaping and prioritising the technology roadmap, providing guidance on strategic initiatives, and ensuring the realisation of business outcomes. By translating business priorities into actionable IT strategies and overseeing the value delivered from projects, the IT Business Partner enables the organisation to achieve its goals through effective, aligned, and innovative technology solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with assigned Business Leaders to understand their strategic goals and priorities.
- Act as the primary liaison between business units and IT, ensuring that IT strategies align with business objectives.
- Deliver high-level updates on IT initiatives, projects and changes, ensuring leaders understand progress, risks and expected outcomes.
- Support IT project delivery by ensuring business priorities are well-understood and reflected in IT plans.
- Develop and maintain 12-24 month technology roadmaps that align IT initiatives with business priorities, organisational strategy and available resource capacity.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, IT leadership, and the PMO to ensure that roadmap priorities reflect business value, priorities and strategic objectives.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND WORK EXPERIENCE
Essential
- Broad experience in managing high-risk, high-visibility projects.
- Experience department demand and aligning IT roadmaps to strategic business goals.
- Familiarity with the functioning of a PMO and steering committee.
- Experience dealing with EMT level stakeholders, with substantial experience navigating complex projects with senior management.
- Knowledge of key business processes (e.g., finance, HR, marketing, sales, ops) and how IT can enable, optimise, and streamline these processes.
- Knowledge of how to identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with IT initiatives, especially when dealing with business-critical systems or new technology implementations.
Required Competencies
- Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and vice versa.
- Capability to identify business challenges and find IT-driven solutions.
- Deep understanding of business processes, goals, and the ability to link IT solutions to business value.
Required Work Experience
- 5+ years of experience in projects or business relationship management.
- Experience dealing with executive stakeholders and navigating complex projects.
Qualifications
- Educated to degree level (high grade) or above.
- BA & PM certifications preferred.
Travel
This role may involve travel to both UK and overseas sites.
