Alfred H Knight has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Chemist to join our team in Dundonald, UK. In this role you will be responsible for carrying out the analysis of fuels and related substances, ensuring all quality procedures within the solid fuels laboratory are being adhered to.
You will also carry out analytical methods and standard operating practices without supervision to a high degree of precision and accuracy. As a senior chemist, you will be expected to ensure that an effective and high quality analytical service is provided and reporting deadlines are met. Additionally, you will be involved in carrying out method development within coal, biomass and chemistry laboratories using a number of analytical instrument techniques.

- Good knowledge and experience working with techniques such as GCMS, ICP-MS and IC.
- Able to critically review technical information and spot root causes and suggest solutions

- Able to communicate effectively in a range of different formats and at all levels in the organisation

- Minimum 3 years experience in method validation and development
- Minimum 5 years experience within a laboratory analytical setting
- Experience in managing people
- HNC and HND in science related subjects or equivalent
- Science Degree is desirable.
