Alfred H Knight has an exciting opportunity for an ICP Preparation Technician to join our laboratory team in Liverpool, UK.
In this role, you will support the ICP department by preparing sample solutions for analysis, ensuring all analytical preparation procedures are carried out accurately, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
Reporting to the Principal ICP Manager, ICP Operations Manager, and Department Supervisors, you will play a key role in delivering reliable analytical results across a diverse range of samples and commodities.
The role also offers a clear development pathway, with the opportunity to train in the operation of ICP-OES and ICP-MS instrumentation as your competency grows.

- Ability to demonstrate literacy and to be numerate.
- Highly motivated with the ability to work under own initiative in a dynamic work environment with changing daily priorities.
- The ability to develop the skills and knowledge within the laboratory to create an environment where knowledge sharing is a priority.
- Able to demonstrate a high degree of manual dexterity and can regularly carry loads of up to 15Kg without issue.
- Ability to work and organize the team in a structured way, whilst maintaining flexibility to the changing and demanding needs of the business.
- High attention to detail.
- Read, understand and follow work instructions and guidelines accurately
- Able to focus on meeting given deadlines.
- Able to communicate effectively in a range of different formats.
- Proven time management skills, quality driven and proactive
- Work Experience
- Experience in a laboratory environment. (Ideal but not essential)
- Required Qualifications
- A minimum GCSE equivalent education in Mathematics, English Language and Science.
